Ingredients:
2 lbs of eye of round roast
1 bottle of Allegro Original Marinade
1 bottle of Allegro Hickory Smoke Marinade
1 plastic zipper bag or the 9''X13'' baking/roasting pan
Dehydrator or convection oven to dry the meat

Directions:
Trim fat from the roast to a minimum. Slice the roast into ⅛ to 3/16" slices. Cut across the grain
Mix the marinade in the plastic zipper bag. Place meat slices individually in bag. Place bag in the refrigerator 12 hours (put a pan under the bag). Rotate the bag every 4 hours if possible
Pour the mixture into a colander to drain. Lay out the slices on dehydrator trays. Sprinkle one side of the slices lightly with black pepper. Dehydrate till dry. Serve.

*Note:  In the sixties we didn't have convection ovens or fancy dehydrators, we just laid the meat over a window screen on top of the clothes line on a bright sunny day. Aren't you glad for progress.
