Fruity Oat Bars
Summary
Power Food - Great for home, office, school lunchboxes, airplane rides, car rides, long rides ''are we there yet'' vacations.  Perfect for in between meal snacks, just not meal replacements. Hubby and kiddos will love this treat.

Ingredients:
1 ¼ cup butter
¼ cup dark corn syrup
¼ cup light corn syrup
4 tsps. honey
¾ cup packed light brown sugar
¾ tsp. kosher salt
⅔ cup dark raisins
⅓ cup golden raisins
⅓ cup Craisins
½ cup roughly chopped dried pears
½ cup roughly chopped dried apricots
½ cup roughly chopped dried dates
4 cups rolled oats
¾ cup sunflower seeds
3 Tbls. sesame seeds
1 ½ Tbls. flax seeds
1 ½ tsp. finely grated orange zest

Directions:
Preheat over to 325oF
Combine the butter, corn syrups, honey, brown sugar and salt in the 2 or 3 Quart Sauce Pan and heat to a boil over medium high heat, stirring occasionally just until the butter is melted and incorporated.
Cook for a total of about 9 minutes, or until the mixture reaches softball stage.

Meanwhile, toss together the remaining ingredients in a large bowl, ensuring they are evenly combined.

Pour the sugar mixture onto the dried fruit mixture and stir to combine using a wooden spoon.
Transfer the mixture to the Jelly Roll Pan or 9X13 Bake & Roast Pan.
Use a rolling pin to press the mixture down firmly making it uniform in depth, keep it level.

Place the pan into the preheated oven and bake for about 35 minutes.  
Turn pan midway through baking to make sure it is browning evenly. 

Remove the pan from the oven.
Place on a wire rack and allow to cool completely.
Using a shape knife, cut into 2 ½ X 3 inch bars.

Note*  You may substitute different dried fruit for all or any portion of the mixture, as long as the total combined dried fruit amount remain the same. Try coconut, pineapple, cashews or M&M's.
